Farm Bureau Financial Services is proud to introduce Mark White, a Farm Bureau agent from North Liberty, Iowa, as part of our “Agent Spotlight” series. Mark prides himself on taking care of his community and family. He is a former U.S. Marine who has an appreciation for Farm Bureau’s ability to help protect its client/members. Why did you choose to become a Farm Bureau agent?
I chose Farm Bureau as a career because of the great tradition of serving client/members and the products that the company offers. They have products for all situations in life.
What’s it like to help protect and serve people in the community that you live in?
I’m honored to help and support people in the community. I’m a Marine veteran and it’s a special feeling when you can help your neighbors. It really adds to the environment and culture of the city.
What does your typical day look like as a Farm Bureau agent?
My typical day starts with returning all my calls and completing necessary paperwork. The rest of the day I’m interacting with the community and client/members.
What has surprised you most about being a Farm Bureau agent?
The biggest, positive surprise of being a Farm Bureau agent is the support I’ve received from other agents. They’re willing to help and go the extra mile to make others successful.
Outside of work, what are your hobbies?
I love to fish and hunt. I have Labrador retrievers that I train for hunting. Also, when I’m not working I spend time with my wife and kids when they’re home on the weekends.
If you could share one piece of advice for fellow Farm Bureau agents, what would it be?
The advice I would give our agents is to stay the course and be persistent in your work.
Do you plan on taking a summer vacation? If so, where and why?
We’re taking a summer vacation to Delaware to stay on the beach for seven days. Vacation is very important to us because it’s quality time we get to have as a family.
Can you talk about why it’s important to be involved in your community? How are you involved?
It’s very important to be involved in your community because you’re building relationships. You have to be active in your community and be visible and available to your community day-in-and-day-out.
