Commission and Residuals

Farm Bureau has one of the best multiline exclusive agent contracts in the industry; you'll earn commission on the property-casualty, life insurance and financial services products you sell. Plus, you'll get residuals from past sales and can earn cash awards from sales campaigns. The more you sell, the more you'll earn.

On average, a first-year Farm Bureau agent makes 49% more than other insurance agents.¹

The top 50% of agents active at the end of the 2023 tax year earned at least $225,793. The average income of these agents was $586,170.²

The top 25% of agents active at the end of the 2023 tax year earned at least $448,246. The average income of these agents was $859,263.²

New Agent Support

To help agents get a strong start, we offer an additional commission opportunity during the early years. As a new agent with us, you'll receive commission on business you write and service, and a monthly commission bonus for new property/casualty accounts and issued life business.

Onboarding and Training

Unique to Farm Bureau, our Developing Agent Program gives you a trial run at being an agent. You’ll get firsthand knowledge and experience without leaving your current employer. Then when you decide you’re ready to make the change, you’ll have a few months and some business already under your belt.
